I never dreamed I would be bike riding in December, but I did it today. Weather.com said it was in the 50s, but it didn't feel like it to me. Although it was nippy, I'd choose that over wind any day. Boney Fingers, my Electra beach cruiser, and I went eight miles. I didn't see any other bikes out, but I saw plenty of faithful dog walkers. I've gone 1100 miles so far this year--which is my first year to really get into bike riding--but I doubt if I'll put in many more miles before the end of the year. If anyone has suggestions for how to keep warm on a bike in a Colorado in December, I'd appreciate it.
In the meantime, we bought an indoor trainer (a Proform 290 SPX) to try to keep me fit through the winter. Now, I just have to talk myself into getting on it. Riding my cruiser doesn't feel like exercise at all, but riding a bike indoors does.
